You are invited to join us on Tuesday 17 March 2009 at Tao, a Beijinger Restaurant Awards Candidate, from 7:00pm for a delicious meal and a talk on the relative importance of "What you Know or “Who you Know” when trying to get a job in a China.

Our speaker, Mr Craig Watts, will examine:

(1) Why in a new market like China “Who You Know” matters a bit more than “What You Know” or “The MSN Effect”

(2) Which Career Qualifications jump out on a CV – expat A-List CV qualifications vs. Chinese A-List CV qualifications.

(3) How to obtain a professional salary level and career satisfaction: The importance of major career shifts and business education as a way to augment incremental salary increases.

The cost: 200RMB includes a 4-course meal and a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink. A Cash bar is available for additional drinks.

About the speaker:
Craig Watts heads global communications for Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in Beijing. He has over a decade of China experience in new media, advertising, and consulting, previously leading teams for Shanghai-based mobile advertising firm Madhouse, TOM Online, and for the Beijing office of Burson-Marsteller. Craig, who holds a Ph.D. in Media Studies from Osaka University and an M.A. from the University of Chicago, has lived in Japan and China for the past 17 years.
