Octagon Marketing is a marketing and public relations consulting firm that specializes in creating customized events for various companies all across the trendy Shanghai scene, with an emphasis in the luxury sector ([Please log-in to contact users]rks toward the promotion and encouragement of cultural exchange between the different worlds that coexist in Shanghai.

We are currently looking for interns who can bring creative ideas that can be executed flawlessly in the fast-paced and exciting public relations scene of Shanghai. We are just now opening our Shanghai office in the heart of the French Concession, and we are recruiting interns for the coming months during the fast-approaching expo.

Job responsibilities & what you will be doing:
- Assists in the planning and implementation for various projects and clients
- Assist in identifying, evaluating and recommending marketing opportunities consistent with company objectives
- Support public relations through researching, writing and editing press releases; seek media outlets for projects and events that the company is organizing
- Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with various local media
- Performing and analyzing market research to supplement various marketing projects
- Management of social, digital and on-line communication platforms
- Provide input and recommendations to the existing staff to promote company awareness and activities
- Assist with sponsorship solicitations
- Aid in all graphic design needs including signage, graphic displays, advertisements and special
event invitations
- Perform other duties in support of the organization

The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience in sales/marketing (preferably in the luxury or cosmetics industries), public relations and event planning (emphasis on obtaining sponsorship for event venues)
- Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
- Excellent communication, administrative and customer service skills and driving passion for marketing/PR
- Along with these abilities, candidates with knowledge of digital photography/imaging are greatly desired
- Mac and Photoshop Skills

Internship conditions
Length of internship: 3-6 months
40 hours/week
compensation based on commission
Location: former French Concession of Shanghai
Students may receive college credit for this internship
